Ellen Brown

Ellen Brown is the Director, Community Integration for UC Davis Health. In this role she works collaboratively with representatives from local health systems, community-based organizations, safety-net providers, and city and county government on strategic community health initiatives to increase access to health care and help address social determinants of health. She leads UC Davis Health’s engagement in the regional hospital Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) collaborative and the associated implementation plan that helps guide UC Davis Health’s local community benefit investments.

Ellen’s first job after graduating college was assembling open enrollment packets at a health plan and she has never left health care. She has worked at non-profit and for-profit health plans and for a large integrated delivery system in the Sacramento area. She believes that partnerships make our work rewarding and impactful and that health care shouldn’t be hard for people to navigate.

Ellen has a BA in Women’s Studies from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley.

Ellen currently serves on the board of the Food Literacy Center.
